Claws
: |
8
feet across when extended. Designed as a method of
retracting the enemy for alignment with the Penetrator.
Claws include short sections of 3/8" diameter man made
flints on the blades at their points. Dragging along the
floor, these flints are solely for the psychological aspect of
combat.

Penetrator
: |
This
spike weapon is powered by compressed nitrogen with a
proprietary release mechanism. This mechanism releases
high pressure almost instantaneously against a piston in a
3-inch bore barrel, creating an explosive force without any
combustion. It should be noted that although other
combat robots employ “pneumatic rams”, kinetic energy
calculations reveal that at the point of impact, this weapon
is expected to yield power comparable to that of a .45 caliber
bullet at point blank range.

Armor
: |
Grade
5 Titanium (6AL-4V) of various thickness. Only a few
components, such as tires and wheels, have other materials
exposed.

Suspension
: |
BFG
Robotics believes a drive suspension system is critical as a
defense against falls and hazard attacks. Yet suspension
systems are usually neglected. A total of four
adjustable shock absorbers are used on the two main drive
wheels, each with 2 inches of travel. Idling stabilizers
are also spring loaded. |
