The
cloak of secrecy is being lifted slowly. The veil will not be
lifted completely until about 30 days before we compete. Below are a few teaser pictures,
edited for public disclosure by our spin-doctors.

It's been a long time since
we've given any updates. We've been very busy trying to
complete the machine for May. Electronics
are nearly complete, and assembly is underway. Our
initial weapon testing has gone extremely well, as you'll see
in the video, below.

Well, we should be driving
Wingsan by the time of the May competition, but it's clear
that it will not be combat ready.
So, we are now targeting competition in November.
However, look for some of
us in the pits in May, at DC Waterjet's table, showing off the
"Dustin" combat robot motors. (Click
"Products" above for more info.)

Wingspan
will be operated from a large control station on wheels, about
4-1/2 feet tall. This control station features a PC computer,
a wireless modem and custom ergonomic controls. Sensor data is
provided from the three onboard processors, a gyroscope, 3
accelerometers, an onboard camera, etc. The screen below is
displayed for two operators: the driver and the weapons chief.
All of this is already a fully functional interactive display
system. We are considering offering this for download in the
near future, after we change it to interact with your home
mouse, keyboard and joystick. If you have a TV tuner card, you
will even be able to view live video through the downloaded
program. NO PROMISES, BUT STAY TUNED!
