The
original concept for upgrading these motors was for Wingspan,
but several other competitors have contributed to the design.
Starting
with the DeWALTŪ hammerdrill motor and transmission, a great
deal of time and expense has gone into testing and improving
this motor to be extremely
reliable, yet powerful and easy to mount in almost any combat
robot. Small and light enough for a 60 pound robot, yet
powerful enough for a 220 pound robot. Wingspan is a 220
pound robot, using just two of these motors for its drive
system at 36 volts.
Until now,
this motor could only be used at 24 volts. This upgrade
allows the motor to be used at 36V+, more
than doubling the power of this lightweight motor! It's
back to make history!
